So yesssss - the VSCC Pomeroy Trophy 17th Feb, at Silverstone lived up to expectations - cold, damp and auto-eccentricities entertained beyond the call.

GT40s with luggage rack, WW1 aircraft engines mounted in Edwardian pram-chassised behemoths, the odd Gp5 racer Batmobile fighting it out to load the luggage, stop & go, and simply be like their driver no doubt, 'regular' - but a typical well-knowledgeable enthused crowd, filled the Paddock. Few believed our Md & Son actually drove our Nichols N1a too & from the GP circuit, not trailered, in typical VSCC style. Bravooooo all!. Humorous & best spirit displayed for the new 'competition' season opener ...

The VSCC Pomeroy Trophy takes place over a series of tests with cars and drivers of all vintages to decide, via a dastardly unfathomable handicap formula, the best 'touring car' of the year.

'Tests' include such hi-powered skill involved in the provision of luggage space, a braking test and an accelerating test, though not at the same time, and while driving the formidable GP circuit occurs in the afternoon, the essence of winning the trial is consistency over your target time.

The variety of ancient vs modern skullduggery is simply magnificent, though the lives of bollards in constant mortal danger.
